How to grab contacts directly to Gmail Contacts list

We all regularly check emails and we add some of the email IDs to our contact list. Adding each of them manually by navigating to Gmail contacts list is a tedious task, but lucky it's easy to add to contact to Gmail contacts list within Gmail.

But what if you have a contact from some other external website or some other social networking site. Copying and pasting each of the fields in the contact list from a contact is a pain.
