How to perform website resolution test

You might have got a really nice website with great content but did you ever think or get a chance to test how the same website would perform with different screen resolutions? To test this you don't have to install any softwares, all that you need to do is install Google Chrome browser extension - Resolution Test. This is an excellent app for web developers to test websites in different screen resolutions. We have an option to define our own resolutions. This chrome extension has multiple options showing some of the commonly used resolutions to select. What this extension does is - it will change the size of browser window so that we or developers can preview our websites in different screen resolutions. It also has the option to turn on Google Browser size.

Here is how you can use this:

  • Restore your window or do not maximize the browser.

  • Click the resolution test extension icon in the top right of your browser window.

  • Choose a single resolution, or select multiple resolutions and press "View all selected".

  • Your window will be re-sized as per the selection.
