How to find device specific reviews for Android Mobile apps

You can always try downloading N number of free mobile apps from Google Play store, but what if you want to buy paid mobile apps? Almost all of us search for the app review by users before purchasing or downloading an app from Play store or other app stores. But these reviews may not be relevant to you as it might be for some other mobile device.

So, How do you find device specific reviews for your Android mobile apps? Follow the following steps to find this:

• Login to Play Store.


• Select Apps and search for the app the you are looking for.


• As shown below, you can see if this app is compatible with you device or not. I'm using Samsung Galaxy Note here to give an example.


• By default, 'overview' tab will be open. Select the next tab - 'User Review' which will show reviews from all users irrespective of the device and the version that the users use.


• Now to know your device specific reviews, click on 'All Devices' and select your device from dropdown. If you have multiple devices like a phone and a tablet and if you are using the same gmail ID for both then both these device will be shown in the dropdown.


• Selecting your device will automatically update all the reviews specific to your device.


• Also, you have an option to select the latest version of OS and also 'Sort by Helpfulness'. I would recommend the first 2 as more useful - 'Latest Verison' and 'All Devices'.

As an example: Google Chrome may not be supported on older version of Galaxy Note which has Android 2.3 but the latest version supports Chrome. The user reviews might vary and the 'Latest Version' option will play an important role here.

Similarly, you might want to see device specific reviews and not general review for all devices. The behaviour of the mobile apps might vary from device to device. Some devices may not respond or might crash even though Google Play might show it as compatible. So, its always better to review device specific reviews when purchasing or installing mobile apps.
