How to block ads on webpages

Earlier today I wanted to watch an old advertisement which was of 15 seconds and searched for this video on YouTube. I was happy to find that ad but when I clicked on play to watch this 15 seconds video there appeared an ad for 30 seconds. Was really annoyed as I had to search for this video and the worst thing is to watch an ad (of 15 secs), I was forced to watch another ad of 30 secs. If you are like me who is very much annoyed with YouTube ads and Facebook ads and want to block ads  then there is a workaround for this.

Same is the case with Facebook, I had logged-in to my 'How To Tech Guru' facebook page and saw more than 7 ads to the right side which was not even related to the content that I write or the content that I have searched for.

If you are using Google Chrome browser then there is an extension named "Adblock Plus". Install this extension from Chrome Store and this will take care of all the unwanted ads. This applies to Facebook Ads, Banners, Pop-ups and many other obstructive ads. There is an option to allow only plain and unobtrusive advertisements which can also be blocked. This extension is open source and is completely free.

The best thing I like about this is you have an option to block all or block all other than plain and unobtrusive ads. Note that this extension has access to your browsing history and data. But you don't have to worry about this as it will show a warning message while installing and they don't collect any of your information even though they have access. Recently, they have allowed some small and static ads which are considered as acceptable ads. You always have an option to blocks these ads. Try this, I don't see any ads on YouTube or Facebook now and have a happy time browsing.
