How to create multiple profiles in Chrome

Have too many bookmarks, passwords, apps, extensions etc. or if there are multiple users using the same computer at home then it will be a mess to have all them in one place. You will never know what the other person has saved as bookmarks or if it's an important link and it's always better to keep your things separate. Best is to create multiple profiles in your browser.

You might have seen the incognito window which will not save any of your data which I tell others to use when they make use of my laptop. By working on incognito mode you password, history, user activity will not be saved. But any bookmarks that you make will be saved.

Creating multiple profiles in chrome will help you in organising all your browser activities like saving bookmarks, passwords, extensions and apps. Let me tell you how I do it. I maintain separate profiles for my office work and my personal work. By doing so, I maintain all the office related tasks like bookmarks, passwords in one profile and my personal, blog, photography stuff in another profile. All that you need to do is go to Chrome settings and under 'Users' click on 'Add new user', enter profile name and select an image. Enter your gmail user ID and password. You need to have separate Gmail accounts for each of the profiles. A shortcut will be created in the desktop and the first profile will be your default chrome profile.

Creating multiple profiles is not new, but I have seen many asking me on how to create multiple profiles in chrome. It's better to have multiple profiles for many reasons. This is good if you have a machine at home and you and your family members are using the same machine to access internet using chrome. Having separate profiles will keep things organised.
