How to initiate group chat on Facebook

If you have planned to go out for weekend trekking or for any other activity and want to discuss with all your friends in one place then you can use the group chat on Facebook feature. Group chat on Facebook with your friends is not something new, and most of are already aware of it. But just in case you don't know about group chat on Facebook then here is a way you can do it.

People usually chat with one person at a time and even though this option is visible right in front while chatting, I have seen that many are not aware of this. It is easy to add friends by just clicking on the button as shown here. Followed by typing your friend's name and hit enter. This is how you initiate group chat. It is a feature in IBM's Sametime and Microsoft's Office Communicator for a long time now. But these softwares were for office use only.

I like Google plus group chat as we have hangout, screen sharing option etc. Now that we have all these, group chat with Facebook and Google plus friends have become even simpler. There is no option to add or invite all your friends in one shot, you will have to manually type each of your friend's name and then invite as of now.
