How to create playlist on YouTube

YouTube is a nice way to showcase to your visitors about your talent or a place to visit or it can be anything. Say, you have uploaded a video on YouTube and you have shared this video with your friends. What if you have another video related to the same topic. You share it again, but there are less chances that your visitors who visited the first video will look into your second video unless there is a playlist that they have created and have added your video to their playlist.

I recently had been to a place and had uploaded multiple videos, nearly fifteen of them. Initially I had uploaded videos one after the other on social media and my photography website. But, only few of my videos had high traffic when compared to others. I did a little bit of research to find out why. The main reason is once you play a YouTube video, YouTube on completion of this video will auto suggest multiple other videos which might be of user's interest depending on his previous search. But these suggested videos usually will not be yours unless it's very much related to the video that was just played. This is how your visitors will be diverted away. So, if you have uploaded fifteen videos of your trip, then your friends may not watch all fifteen instead they might watch only one.

In order to avoid this, you can group all related videos or say, your trip videos together into one group or playlist. YouTube has this option. Once you login to your YouTube account, under Video Manager click on Playlist. Here it will show all your playlist and sometimes a playlist called favorite playlist. This is created whenever you mark a video as your favorite. If you want to create playlist on YouTube then click on "+ New Playlist" to the top right corner. Now enter the title for the playlist and select the way you want to share it. By default the share option will be public. Now, click on create and a new playlist will be created.

Note that you need to upload each of the videos individually before adding these videos to playlist. Add the URL of already uploaded videos by clicking on 'Add videos by URL' option. You have an option to adjust the start and end time of each of the videos in the playlist and also, you can leave a note under each of the videos. Enter the description to the playlist that you just created and click on save. This is how you can create playlist on YouTube.

Here is an example of the playlist that I have created: Kumta - Gokarna Beach

You and other visitors can now embed your playlist instead of just one video. By creating a playlist, once a video play is completed, instead of YouTube suggesting someone else's videos it will auto play the next video in the playlist. Note that it's always better to share playlist instead of individual videos.
