During my college engineering days I did not have this option to build and test electronic circuits like how it is these days. At that time all our experiments were inside our college laboratory where they had installed licensed version of different electronic softwares and we had to use these them even to test the simplest of circuits just to check if the circuit that we had built were working or not.

But these days with the better browser, apps, smart phones etc. learning has become much easier. There are just too many apps that are available both paid and free and you don't have to be dependent on high end softwares installed in your college lab to test some of the simple to complex electronic circuits.

Here is an app named Circuit Lab which can be accessed offline which has a schematic editor and a electronic circuit simulator. The best thing is you can build and test circuits all within your Google chrome browser by downloading and installing this app from Chrome Store. Here is what Circuit Lab has to offer:
- You can design using easy to use schematic editor.
- Gives accurate analysis within seconds - AC, DC and more.
- You can take printouts and also save in PDF and PNG format.
- You have an option to share live circuit URLs with your friends or office teammates so that others can simulate and edit your circuit.
- You can connect to all elements using easy-wire mode.
- There is a Circuit Lab community where you can copy - paste in cross window which lets you easily explore and remix electronic parts of public circuits shared in the community.
- You can simulate analog and digital components side-by-side with the help of mixed mode circuit simulation.
- There are many more features like advanced simulation, unique electronic circuit URLs, in-browser simulation, unit-aware expression evaluation etc.

It was hard earlier during my engineering days where we had to test our design with real hardware - resistors and capacitors etc., burnt many things and ended up in paying fine at college lab. But, it's much easier and simpler these days with apps of this kind. Give it a try before you burn some electronic parts next time ;)
