How to engage better as a Publisher using Google Plus

If you are a website owner or a publisher or a content creator then you must be aware of most of the social media websites where you can share content. There are just too many of them and engaging with your customers/visitors for each of them is different. Experimenting with each is a time consuming task, but works the best as you (publisher/ content creator) will be the best person to judge which works the best for your website or blog.

Google Plus is one among the many social media websites that are available and there are multiple reasons why you need to consider Google Plus much more than others. One simple reason is Google Plus is from Google and you know how Google will integrate with every other google service. Right from the beginning, Google had acquired picnik for it's photo editing tool which is now embedded to Google Plus for photo editing. Just like any other social media, there are enough number of users using this. Also it has all the necessary follow buttons, widgets etc.

Recently there were multiple updates and it now integrates even better with YouTube and Blogger. Whatever comments that you do is using your Google account and the best thing is everything is integrated with Google plus. The share, +1 that others make on Google plus, blogger, YouTube is all in one place.

Google plus allows content creators and publishers to establish authenticity and authorship of their created content by publishing it. Authorship plays an important role these days in generating accurate and trust worthy results in Google search.  The recent integration with Blogger and YouTube it provides even more authenticity about the content that is put up by you, so it's easier for Google to find the original and genuine content. In search results, you Google profile picture will appear next to the search results which will not only make search engines know that you are the author but also the visitors.

Just sharing content with visitors will not do. Engaging (using you Google profile) with visitors will help you better and sharing it with the right people will help your website or blog become more popular, including you.

Also, whatever '+1' that you get will help you perform better on search results. If the +1 that you get is from a high profile then you rank better when compared to others in search results.

If you are a content creator or a publisher then I would recommend using some of the Google services like enabling Authorship, enabling comments in your blog or website, adding plus button to your blog. By default, comments on Blogger and YouTube is now Google Plus. You can enable this on your self hosted website or blog too. The reason why i'm comparing it with others is search and plus is by Google and you can be sure that these two will integrate well compared to any other social media like Twitter or Facebook, even though these are also considered these days in getting better search results as per the latest Google search algorithm.
