How to get free extra data space on cloud based storage

Almost all of us have a smartphone these days and have various apps installed. There are many cloud based storage apps like Dropbox, Google Drive, Skydrive etc. In most of these apps, if you have it's latest version installed then there is an auto upload feature which is set to default.

When I purchased a new phone and installed the same Dropbox app, I could find all the photos that were captured using my previous camera phone. How ? Simple, all that I did was had installed Dropbox and there was a default 'auto upload of photos' option enabled. I did not enable this option and it had saved all my photos in the default dropbox photos folder. You also have an option to disable this.

With features like these, if you have too much data then you might end up using your cloud based storage in no time. There are many way to get extra space. One is by paying more you can get more space or by referring friends to open an account etc. There is one more option to get more space for free. Just open another account and then manage files between these accounts.

Say, you have a dropbox account. Just open another account in some other cloud based storage service like Google Drive, Skydrive or in the same Dropbox. You can have multiple Dropbox accounts and same is the case with other cloud based storage services. Once you have opened an account use some of the free online apps to manage files between different cloud based storage accounts like the one mentioned in the above link. This is as simple as moving files across different folders.

By doing so you don't have to spend money in getting some extra space. There are enough number of apps which can manage files across different cloud based storage services. This will work well for individual accounts or for personal use and may not work for large scale storage. Also, it's easy to manage files using you smartphone. You just have to do the initial setup like login to different accounts before managing between them.
