I have been experimenting for a while on sharing my blog content on social media. There are many ways to share posts both manually and auto. Automatically sharing content on is easy as the tool or plugin does everything for you as soon as your article is published and definitely it's a time saver. But manually posting content or blog post has it's own advantage.

When you share posts on Facebook or Google plus, it will just be like any other article sharing. But when you share an article on Facebook Page or Google Plus page, people/visitors can like your page or follow you. Facebook profile has a follow button now, but not many people like someone following them and instead they want to be followed on their page.

What happens when you share posts which is already shared on your Facebook Page is, you are promoting your Page as well in-addition to sharing your content. There is a link back to your Facebook Page's landing / home page. So, your followers on Facebook Profile (not your Facebook page) can now see this post that you have shared (provided it is shared as public) and also a link to your Facebook Page. This is the advantage of sharing a post which is already posted on Facebook Page instead of sharing post directly on your Facebook profile.

Same is the case with Google plus. When you share a post which is already shared on Google Plus Page, this shared post will have a link to your Google Plus page. So, there will be 2 links in this post - one pointing to your Google Plus home page and the other is the main article pointing to your blog or website.

You might have your friends who are also following your Facebook Page and when you share your Facebook post, they might get 2 updates - one from direct posting on your Facebook profile and other from your Facebook Page. To avoid this use different timings like first share it on Facebook page and maybe later on that day share the post already shared on Facebook page. Similarly, with Google Plus.

By doing so there are chances that you get more followers and also self promoting it with your friends and followers without any extra charge. Give it a try. Also, note that this practice will work well for single owner websites or bloggers. When one of your friends likes or comments on the re-shared post, all his/her friends will also see this re-shared post which has a link to your page.
