How many times have you visited a brand's / film actor's Facebook Page to find some million followers. It's true that if a film star is a super hero or a best soccer / cricket player then you will find huge follow count. But this follow count that you see need not always be true. Specially for a brand like some cloth, car, bank, insurance, online service company etc. These companies just want more likes (in millions) to get more customers. Online reputation matters a lot for them and also the followers count.

Let me give a simple example. Say, you have visited a brand 'XYZ'. This Facebook page has hardly 100 followers. Will you go ahead and like this page by looking at only 100 followers. Now, what if the same brand 'XYZ' were to have 10 million likes - i'm sure you would have followed just by looking at the huge follow count. Right? This is what exactly brands think too. Having low follow count will drive away their customers to their competitors.
All of us want huge follow count on social medias like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Instagram etc. and increase our social presence. People try different methods to increase their follow count just to get more customers and increase their sales. You can promote your Facebook page to do so through Facebook. Check out How to promote your website post on Facebook.
There are other ways to increase your social presence to get more customers through click farms. These click farms can get you more likes, followers, fans, views, comments and many more. They sell these for a price. These click farms are not a part of social media websites but are third party companies. It's a million dollar business for them to sell more likes, followers etc and get more customers to major brands.

Many major brands use these click farms to increase follow count but there are higher chances of your account getting banned. Buying and selling likes/ clicks violets social media user rules, but as of this writing there is no strict govt rule or is not regulated by govt or federal agencies. Use this at your own risk. I would recommend not to use click farms to increase followers and get more customers, would recommend to promote through social media instead of their party. It might be expensive for brands to promote through social media than the cheaper third party companies, but still is better than getting banned.

Social media sites are having tough time dealing with this fake likes and are already taking action against some of the brands, specially singers and players who used this method to increase follow count. I will be writing more on how this would impact and what you need to do sometime soon. Subscribe to my blog to get these updates on this.
