I see that there are many who don't know what their internet package/plan is and neither do they know how to perform internet speed test. You can check if you internet service provider is providing the speed you pay for. Each internet service provider might be having their own internet speed testing tools like in India we have Airtel, BSNL etc. but will it give you all the details or do they hide anything. There are few websites like SPEEDTEST.NET which will give you more details like ping details, which is the nearest server and how much time it has taken to ping each of the servers, download speed, upload speed, packet loss, jitter, internet service provider, IP and there is a grade which will be given after completion of test. This grade is calculated using the above mentioned parameters and also by comparing it with other test results. This website is not specific to the internet service provider.
As you can see here I have completed internet speed test and ping test. My internet service provider is Airtel Broadband, followed by the IP address and Bangalore location. Also, I can rate my internet service provider here which is viewable by other users. In the ping test it will identify the server which takes less time, even though there was a server in Mumbai, India it opted for Singapore as the ping time was less compared to Mumbai. Also, it will calculated the jitter by calculating the sent and received packets. Depending on all these it will give a rating and an explanation saying if the line is good or bad and what applications can be used.
