It's always nice to have an image with full clarity and usually higher the image size more will be the image data in it. But if you have a website or if you are planing to upload a photo online on your website or share photos with your friends online then these images with more data or larger image files will take much more time to load and in the worst case might not load large images at all. Also, the data consumption will be more for users who view these images. Large images will have to be re-sized for image optimization. Slow loading of webpage is a big no as it will irritate users. So, it's always better to load smaller image files which can load quickly on both your computer as well as on your mobile device. There are multiple ways to do this and let me explain the way how I do it.

Simple Image Resizer is one such online tool which will help you in re-sizing an image online for image optimization. Here you need to import an image and then set dimension or you can set size in terms of percentage. You have the option to set dimensions or percentage and these values are not predefined, hence you can set your own value depending on what you like. I tried reducing the image size by 70-75% and the image quality was still good enough. According to image sizer, you don't have to compromise on image quality once you reduce the file size. You can download this app from Chrome Store if you are using Google Chrome browser.

This online tool is very simple and easy to use. The image files that are included include JPEG, JPG, PNG, BMP and GIF. There are few good reasons why you need to consider having smaller images:
- It will reduce website or your blog post response time. Remember - lower response time will make users happy and also the search engine.
- As your image size is lower, your images will load at a much faster rate on mobile devices and also there will be less data consumption.
- If you are a website owner, having smaller images will reduce bandwidth and hence you pay less for data hosting.
- As the response time is low, user experience will be good and users will be happy, there by increasing user revisit.
