I went through this product and here are few things that you need to know about Office 365 which is one of the Microsoft Cloud Services.
- Microsoft Cloud services - Office 365 is cloud based. Office 365 integrates well with Skydrive to save all your documents online. You can even save all your documents as a local copy in your hard disk.
- There are multiple apps included like the Access, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Publisher, Outlook and InfoPath. All of these apps are installed when you go for subscription.
- I have got around 25GB of space on Skydrive and Office 365 was designed to integrate well with Skydrive and you can expect more free storage space as per your subscription.
- There is an option to use free office minutes when you dial-in to international numbers and free for few minutes to landline numbers depending on the type of subscription.
- Students get free Office 365 (region specific like India) or at a discounted price.
- Office 365 works with the touch screen devices as well like tablet running Windows 8 etc.
- It works well with the high speed network or the broadband connection. Works fine even on slow networks but transferring files on Skydrive might take a bit of time.
- It integrates well with PC, Mac and other mobile devices.
- I will not be writing about the licenses and price as it might vary from region to region and time. You can check Office 365 website for these details.
Microsoft Office is being used by all and is one which has too many inbuilt features and there is nothing in the market that can dominate Office 365 for now. The cloud service is even better with it's integration with Skydrive - the online storage which is another Microsoft Cloud Services, makes you access all your documents online from anywhere. This software is free of cost for students and others can try this for a month. You don't have to worry about upgrading your MS Office software when there is a new version released in the market or any compatibility issues. It's all taken care by Microsoft and that's the power of cloud computing. Give it a try today.
