How to compare text files online

If you are in a job where you do lot of data validation on text files then you might be having hard time in validating the two text files. If the data is in an excel sheet then you can always use some formulas to find out same or different content. But how to compare text between two given text files. Finding difference in two large text files can be a tedious.

To make you job easier, there is a website [link] where all you need to drag-and-drop the two text files for which the comparison has to be made. This is an online tools where you can upload the two text files or drag-and-drop two files together or just paste the entire text. You have an option to convert all the capital letters to small, as even capital letters are considered as different while comparing. There are two ways to compare the two text files side-by-side and inline. I have tried comparing it both ways and the results are as shown. It's very clear and will tell you where exactly the mismatch is. Comparison hardly takes any time and is really quick.

find difference in two text files

Note that this online tool supports only text files. I tried importing a word file and the text that appeared was not readable. So, at-least for now it's only text files that are supported. As per their website, this tool doesn't collect any information including the uploaded information and comparison is done locally. There are other ways to compare two text files but I find this really simple, easy and time saving. I wish if it had support to other file formats as well.
