Do you have a Wordpress blog which looks like the image below where the pages that you have created are visible in the top menu bar? Pages can be like 'About', 'Privacy & Policy', 'FAQ', 'Disclaimer' or any other page that you have created doesn't always need a place in the top menu bar. It is better to hide pages from main menu bar and place it some where in the footer as shown in my blog.
As you can see in this image, I had About and Contact pages appearing on top in big letters which is something that I did not want to. Instead I wanted to hide pages from this place and place it somewhere in the footer. You can add a code to the footer to add but to hide it, there is a plugin in Wordpress which is helpful. Follow the following steps to hide pages that you want.
- Go to Wordpress admin/dashboard and click on plugins
- Search for "Exclude Pages from Navigation" plugin and install it.
- Once installed and activated, it will not appear to the left side. Instead click on 'Pages' and click on edit page (the page that you would like to hide from main menu).
- Here you will find a checkbox as shown above, which is checked by default. Uncheck and click on save page.
- Now, refresh your blog and the pages will not appear under main menu or navigation.

Good thing about this plugin is it will not hide all the pages, and site owners have control over the page that is to be kept hidden. Another advantage is only users who are aware of the complete URL can access this page and will not be visible to the public.
