If you are a publisher and have ads placed on your website or blog using Adsense or other similar ad networks then it's better to monitor click fraud on your website. You never know, there might be people who might not like you and want to bring your site down or they might not like you making money online through your ad network maybe because their application to adsense might have got rejected or what ever be the reason. What if they click on the same ad multiple times continuously. Google and other ad networks will keep a track of each of these clicks and will also keep a track of many other parameters. Do not think that if they click 25 times you get paid for all 25 clicks, instead your account might get banned permanently. The simple reason is Google considers it as 'click fraud' and is not legal.

But how to avoid these visitors from doing this. Informing each of these users not to do so is impossible or putting a banner saying not to do so will only alert visitors to purposely do it. Once you are banned from Google Adsense it is really hard to get back to adsense. Well, if you have a Wordpress blog or a website then there is a workaround for this problem. Install a plugin named 'AdSense Click Fraud Monitoring'.

Here is why you need to use this plugin if you are using Google Adsense. Google Adsense takes care of every click that is on its advertisement. They make sure than each and every click is by a human and not automatic clicks by crawl bots or a click bomb. The reason can be from your own end to get more clicks or maybe some competitor wants to harm you and stop you from earning money out of adsense. So, what this plugin does is it will monitor all the click activities. It prevents malicious clicks by human users, bots, click by friends which Google can track, unintended clicks of your own, block a list of IP address including your own IP address. You have an option to add custom name for your ad block class.

Usually your website CTR - click through rate is 1 or 3%. Using Google Analytics and Adsense you can monitor how CTR is performing. If there is a sudden spike or increase in CTR rate then you are in trouble. To avoid this, AdSense Click Fraud Monitoring plugin helps you in disabling your ads when a visitor clicks too often on them, a visitor may be banned or blocked from clicking further, you can unblock IP address manually and many more.

AdSense Click Fraud Monitoring counts each and every click on your ad just like adsense. You have an option to set the limit or the number of clicks a visitor can click on an ad by going to plugin settings. When the clicks exceeds a specified a specified number, the ad will be deactivated and removed from the source code. The IP address of that visitor is blocked on an IP basis for further clicks. If you are a premium user then you get an email alert as well.

I would recommend using this plugin on your Wordpress if you are using Adsense to make money, just to be on safer side. Leave a comment below if you are using any other similar tools, softwares or plugins to keep a track of this.
