How to control your computer using mobile

Want to control your computer using mobile or from anywhere and perform few basic actions like Shutdown, Restart, Wake up, Hibernate, Sleep etc. then here is a very light and old software named "Shut Down" which has a setup file size of just 61.5 KB. There are too many similar available these days but the reason for me to use this old software is simple. The file size is small, very quick installation, performs exactly what it has to do and hardly takes any time to perform these operations. Note that these may not apply to all softwares. Usually the newer versions of these softwares will have too many more features even the core features remains the same, will consume lot of memory and sometimes in the worst case will slow down the entire machine. Shut Down software can performs all basic operations mentioned above and you can control your computer using mobile phone.

Switch Off is an easy to use tray based system utility which can auto perform various most commonly used operations like shutdown, restart, disconnect from your internet connection, lock workstation any many more. You can access easily as it's all in system tray. Utility has fully customizable web interface using which you can initiate operations mentioned above remotely from any computer or a mobile web browser. Web interface includes WAP support, so that you can control your computer using mobile device. This small software can be used by anyone as the operations are very easy to understand.

Web interface allows you to remotely connect to this software. All that you need is a browser and you can connect it from any device which has a browser installed in it. Here is how you can enable and use web interface:

• Once the software is installed in your machine, enable the web interface option under Options.


• Launch web browser on a computer where this software is installed. Computer has to be connected via LAN or internet.


• In the address field type name or IP address of your computer with port number selected in Options (by default: 8000) . Example: http://192.168.0.1:8000/ or http://computer-name:8000/


• You have an option to customize the page displayed in web browser when you connect to computer with this software installed.
