How to increase sales with minor update to your website

I have seen people where they place they place their ads and products which are for sale on all possible corners of their website landing page and all around their website or blog. Just placing it in every corner will not increase sales and these people just think about sales and how much money they can make. What they forget to do is a bit of research on how they can increase sales, what ad size will suit the best and where to place these ads or products for sale.

You might have seen most of the popular sites or blogs where they have their ads placed. Usually ads are placed on top and in the right sidebar you will find their product, e-books etc which are usually placed on top of the right sidebar to increase sales. Usually ads and products which are meant for sale are placed here for higher visibility and also to increase sales.

There is something called 'Above the fold', which means placing these sales ads or content higher up in your website or blog will be more effective than having the same ad at the bottom of the page. In simple words, when a website loads the first webpage that is displayed without your mouse being scrawled is the region above the fold. Any content that is placed in this region will get noticed and this is where you need to place your ads or product that are for sale. Placing an product/ad here can increase sales /revenue.

When you place your ad it is recommended to place you banner/text ads here in this region. If you have an important post or a content which you think should be given importance then this is where you need to place it. Choosing the right location in your webpage with the right ad size matters. Placing content in the 'above the fold' region will be noticed and remembered. So, a minor update to your site in placing these ads can increase sales and revenue.

If you have content that should be given lower importance or low paying ads then you may place it at the bottom where as higher paying ads should be placed in the above the fold region as this region usually outperforms the region below.
