The first thing that we see as soon as we login to Facebook is the news feed and any notifications. Followed by this, we just scroll down to check all the updates from every one. This feed contains not just updates from our friends but also other updates from pages that you have liked, apps, Facebook ads etc. If a post has the highest number of interactions like Likes, Shares and Comments then that particular post is given higher priority and will appear on top in the news feed, even if you have posted it some time back or even long back.

There are many factors in the Facebook algorithm that are considered and for obvious reasons Facebook will not let us know their algorithm. By default, Facebook will show us all the updates from friends, pages, groups, apps etc. But what if you have already liked/ commented/shared a post and it's reappearing everytime. It's definitely very annoying. You always have an option to mute the post or hide the post by answering few questions from Facebook. If you are getting alerts for each and every like or comment for a post that you liked or commented then you always have the option called 'stop notification'.

But what if you are getting irritated to the max by some group or friends or a page. If this is the case then there is an option for you to customize your news feed updates. Once you login to Facebook, in the left bar there is something called 'News Feed'. There is a pencil option to edit this. Click on this option and there will be a pop-up - 'Edit News Feed Settings'. This is where you manage and hide posts from friends, groups, pages etc. Once done click on save and you will not see any further updates.
